The Alaska State Trooper’s office in Anchorage posted a video online Wednesday of an SUV crashing through parade barriers, before sliding down an embankment and coming to a stop after colliding with a police van.

“Witnesses to the accident are asked to contact the trooper’s office or speak with the member of the State of Alaska Police Patrol,” the state agency’s Facebook post said.

The trooper said the incident took place around 2:30 pm in Anchorage, and in the video you can see traffic attenuators blocking the roadway, while thousands of floats and cars were involved in the annual Knik Arm Marching Band Festival.

The trooper said the driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The video does not show the collision with the police van, but it starts with a loud crash and a huge plume of white smoke as the SUV veers out of control.
