Sleeper hit US show The Sex Lives of College Girls has enrolled another female quartet in a coming-of-age comedy on Channel 4.
Jess, Kelly, Jessica and Caitlin, all 26 or 27, have been through many teenage experiences as well as a few more adult ones over the course of the show’s first series.
They start their life in New York to escape their tedious married lives in California.
Jessica, one of the oldest of the girls, is the breadwinner of the group. After a break-up with her boyfriend, she’s determined to settle down with her new beau but discovers some potential hurdles – including her handsome neighbour being a skilled body builder.
The show, which is currently airing its fifth series, has been described as a “fresh twist on Sex and the City”, with the four characters living in Brooklyn, occasionally visiting places like Paris and Miami, and going on several non-sexual dates.
On Twitter, actor Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor in the previous run of The CW superhero shows, declared: “If #TheSexLivesOfCollegeGirls is any indication to me, at 26 this is what my future life is going to look like.”
