Tips on how to wrap gifts with no holiday guilt
Spring is officially here, and for many people that means the busiest time of year in the world of gift wrapping. To save you time in all your getting gifts ready in stores and online, we’ve got some shopping tips to make wrapping this holiday season easier.
Remember to go with a text message-friendly size
Store your gifts all the way away from the window. This goes both ways – store gifts with strings right out of the camera range of your mother-in-law. If you do have to try to get them out of the window, have them wrapped with a gift box or a plain un-wrapped gift. This way you don’t look like an idiot with your crowded arms filled with raw gifts.
Remember: Get them out of stores with strings
Taking your gift to the store and keeping it in your bag for weeks and weeks, hoping it’ll somehow get a better display of condition, is a horrible sign of neglecting those around you. However, if you take your gifts out of the store, wrap them inside of a gift box and the store might actually help the gift to look perfect. On its own – you know, without strings – it looks lovely in the store. A note after you’ve finished giving them out: “Thank you for arranging gifts properly, you’re a great friend.”
Use a real gift bag
If you’re going to buy a gift bag or any kind of simple gift bag – and even if you are not – just wrap them with a gift wrap. Not only will a gift bag help keep your gifts tidy, it will look just plain prettier than wrapping with holiday wrapping paper. Plus, for something as modest as a gift bag – who really wants to spend a good chunk of time unpacking a poorly wrapped gift? They look fine plain!
Give a decent gift
If you want to look as though you’re incredibly considerate, treat everyone well at the same time, and go the extra mile to make it look like you’ve read all your neighbors’ gifts. Start by wrapping the person you know and love most first, and wrap up any other presents over their gifts in a similar fashion.
Happy gift wrapping!
