Jeremy Renner on what he hopes to do in the future

Jeremy Renner has proven himself an incredibly versatile actor, heading up action flicks like The Hurt Locker, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Avengers: Infinity War. But could the 46-year-old star veer more into comedy?

Renner told us what he hopes to do in the future…

Director: GK Films

Hawkeye film: “I like to put it out there, people will like it. I think anybody out there that’s been reading The Avengers comics, that’s the man. He’s sarcastic and smart and he wears a bow-tie!

“I think if we get him the right script then that could be an awesome superhero film. Honestly, if I were to do a superhero film, I think it would be a simple character, a regular guy, who is a hero, who would punch the shit out of bad guys and then those bad guys have to stay at the bar. He’s your mayor of Kingstown, they can’t piss on you.

“We’ll see. I’ve read the Civil War story, which I got to read a few weeks ago, and it’s pretty much the how-to manual. That’s the character that I would be interested in putting into the movie… But I think Captain America’s probably the first guy that’s an honest government man, if you want to put it that way.”

Director: Pat Moran

Mayor of Kingstown film: “Basically the director is my son Ben. So I’m an ambassador. It’s about a guy that wants to run a town and not have to be in court to say when he’s doing it correctly. He has to think of all the reasons why we don’t want it to be that way, every hour of the day.”

Jeremy Renner will next be seen in Tag.
